Resources to Learn More About Rx Burning;
Since 2017, Briceland VFD has been supporting Prescribed Burning in Humboldt and Mendocino Counties, often working in tandem with the Humboldt County 
Prescribed Burn Association, a citizen led organization that was the first PBA formed in the Western USA.
Our Assistant Chief, Kai Ostrow (CARX) authored an exhaustive guide for Rx Burning; the Humboldt County Prescribed Burn Manual, available to download free of charge in the link below.
Other organization that we have supported with fire equipment and personnel on Rx and Cultural Burns include the Mattole Restoration Council, the Mid Klamath Watershed Council and the Cultural Fire Management Council
We have also enjoyed the support of Cal Fire on numerous Rx Burns in our area, and also participated in CalFire led Vegetation Management Plan implementation.
